Coillte Announces appointment of Imelda Hurley as new Chief Executive

Coillte are delighted to announce today that, following a very comprehensive process, we have appointed Imelda Hurley as our new CEO. Imelda will take up the position on 4th November.

Imelda, who is originally from Cork, has a wide range of experience across a number of sectors, both nationally and internationally.

Imelda has over twenty years’ experience in leadership and finance roles across a variety of sectors including food & agriculture, technology related supply chain management and professional services.  She has been a Board Member in public company, state owned, private equity and venture capital backed businesses.  She has worked extensively in Ireland, the UK, Eastern Europe and Asia-Pacific. She is currently a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Member of Total Produce Plc and is also a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the University of Limerick. She was previously an Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of agri-services group, Origin Enterprises plc.  Prior to joining Origin, Imelda was based in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China where she was Chief Financial Officer and Head of Sustainability for PCH International, a venture capital backed technology related supply chain management business. In addition, she worked with Greencore Group plc, where, over a ten-year period she held a number of senior leadership positions including Group Finance Director and Finance Director of the Convenience Foods Division.

 

Imelda qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen Ireland and has also worked with Andersen in Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from the University of Limerick and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland. In her spare time Imelda enjoys hiking, travel and endurance adventure sports.
