Graduate Development Programme

The Coillte Graduate Development Programme offers talented individuals the opportunity to be part of the future of Coillte. We offer recently qualified graduates a three year placement to gain invaluable experience across our forestry division.

Graduates will be provided with placements in the areas of Resource Optimisation Analysis & Planning, Harvesting & Operations Management, Customer Supply Management or Financial Planning & Analysis with the opportunity to apply technical learning, and further development of  skills and competencies within an exciting and customer focused forestry business.

We are looking specifically for graduates within forestry but students currently participating in their final year or who are awaiting results are also welcome to apply.

Transistion Year Placements

Coillte facilitates formal work experience for a number of second level students each year. This work experience gives students the opportunity to experience what work is like and explore options for possible future careers. Each School or College must provide an Insurance Letter of Indemnity prior to commencing work experience.  Students must also provide a copy of birth certificate and written permission from parent/guardian prior to commencing.

Students can submit an application to  Plase note that due to high demand for this placement we will be unable to accomodate all requests.  Where possible students should submit their application by 30 September 2016 for 2017 placements.


Student Internship Programme

Coillte offers an internship programme across its business divisions, allowing students to integrate theory with practical work experience while assisting businesses with work.

Coilltes’ Student Internship Programme provides supervised career related work experience that allows students to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom in a professional work environment.

Our program enhances their educational background by providing opportunities for career exploration and development of industry specific skills while encouraging personal development. The programme runs concurrent with each academic institutions calendar. Hours of work vary and some internships can involve additional hours.

Job Bridge National Internship Scheme

Coillte is a participant in the Job Bridge National Internship Scheme, a government initiative which is designed to offer jobseekers the opportunity to enhance their current skills and develop new ones.  All job bridge opportunities are advertised on

Successful interns will retain their current allowance from the Department of Social Protection and they will receive an additional €50 per week which will be paid to them by the Department of Social Protection. This is paid for the duration of the internship.



Forestry Production and Maintenance

As part of our continuous investment in Coillte forests, we plant approx. 15 million trees in Ireland every year covering an area of approximately 6,000 hectares. These trees play a vital role in Coillte’s forest business and significantly enhance the Coillte estate for the benefit of all users.

To undertake best practice in forestry and deliver our operational planting, maintenance and harvesting programmes to the highest standards Coillte operates on a partnership approach with a range of contracting partners.
