Storm Jocelyn – Coillte urges forest users to exercise caution
Monday 22nd January: Coillte advises all users of forest lands including its staff, contractors and members of the public, to exercise caution if entering forest lands during this weather warning as storm Jocelyn approaches.

Met Éireann have issued a Status Orange Wind warning for Counties Donegal, Mayo and Galway
Storm Jocelyn will bring very strong southwest to west winds with severe and damaging gusts.
Potential impacts include
• Large coastal waves with wave overtopping
• Very difficult travelling conditions
• Fallen trees
• Damage to power lines
• Damage to already weakened structures

Fallen and overhanging trees pose an extremely dangerous risk to the public and Coillte is urging everyone to remain vigilant and to exercise extreme caution if entering forest lands over the coming days. Members of the public should not approach fallen or overhanging trees as they pose a significant health and safety risk and access routes blocked by trees should only ever be cleared by trained experts.
