Irish legislation, including the Forestry Act 1988 and the Coillte Bye-laws 2009, provides Coillte with the authority to manage and regulate activities on its lands. Consequently, while general recreational access may be permitted in designated areas, organised, commercial, or higher-risk activities are subject to Coillte’s approval and may require a permit or licence.
