Coillte’s Land Use Strategic Implementation Plan Published
Coillte has completed the consultation process on its draft Land Use Strategic Implementation Plan (LUSIP) and wishes to thank all stakeholders who took part in the public consultation which ran from 1st October to 12th November 2025. All submissions and observations received during the consultation period were carefully considered in finalising the plan.
Coillte has now completed this process and is pleased to announce that the final Land Use Strategic Implementation Plan (2026–2035), along with the associated Environmental Assessment Reports are now available on our website.
The LUSIP sets out the practical and measurable actions Coillte will implement to realise the objectives of the Forest Estate Land-Use Plan (FESLUP) and support the long‑term delivery of climate, nature, wood and people benefits across Ireland’s forests.
Coillte wishes to acknowledge the valuable input received throughout this process and looks forward to working collaboratively to implement this important strategic plan.
Coillte’s ambition is to create new forests and effectively manage our existing forests for greater carbon capture and provide more habitats to enhance biodiversity. We will support the creation of new homes by delivering sustainable Irish wood products and also aim to increase the number of beautiful forest recreation spaces for everyone to enjoy.
This consultation was carried out in accordance with the requirements of S.I. No. 435 of 2004 (European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004, as amended by S.I.
