Coillte’s forests open for all to enjoy but users asked to adhere to HSE and Government guidelines
Thursday January 7th 2021
Coillte’s forests and forest parks are open, as the country moves into more stringent national Covid-19 restrictions after the Christmas period. All visitors must adhere to HSE and Government guidelines, including two metre social distancing measures and remain within their 5km limit.
As we’ve all seen during COVID19, there are substantial mental health and wellbeing benefits in walking outdoors and exploring forests. Coillte has forests in every county in Ireland that can be enjoyed safely. There are over also over 260 recreational sites and over 3,000kms of walking trails, not to mention mountain bike trails and forest parks. Please remain within your 5km limit.
You are reminded that travel by car to any site to take exercise is not currently permitted.
Stay safe, stay local and protect each other.
