Rahin
Overview
Welcome to Rahin Wood one of Coillte’s oldest woodlands, nestled along the banks of the River Boyne.
Amongst the 70 hectares Rahin Wood covers are some of the oak and beech trees that were planted back in 1935, other trees onsite include the second-generation planting of Norway spruce conifers planted in the 1990’s.
Things to do
There is a way marked loop walk that takes you on a nice leisurely amble around the forest which is suitable for all the family.
Rahin Loop Walk – 2km – 40 minutes – easy – red markers
If you want to have a look at the River Boyne on your visit, cross the little bridge and take the trail on your right-hand side and follow this to corner and see the river flow by.
