Oakport / Bluebell Wood
Overview
Welcome to Oakport / Bluebell Wood. This is a 100 hectare (approx. 250 acre) diverse woodland, with lots of biodiversity, heritage and water features.
There is a waymarked walking trail and loads of forestry tracks throughout the property.
The main highlight is the inspiring array of Bluebells in spring/early summer which carpet the forest floor.
Things to do
The Black Lough Loop – 1.9 km – half an hour – red markers – easy
The trail will take you through a mixed conifer/ broadleaf woodland and starts and ends at the car park. This Woodland is great for families and the gentle gradient also allows for walkers at all levels.

Look out for the varied flaura and fauna that lives in Oakport and especially the bluebells that flower spring / early summer and give the forest its local name Bluebell Wood.
