Killamery / Windgap

Overview

Welcome to Killamery Wood which forms part of one of the Windgap looped walks, the Bearna Breac Loop.
Enjoy the forest and its many different trees and marvel in the views of the surrounding countryside.

Directions to the forest entrance:
Head south on main street out of Windgap, and take the first right on Oldcastle Upper / Frankfort East, follow this for about 1 km and take the first right and this will lead you to the forest entrance on the left-hand side.

Things to do

The Bearna Breac Loop walk can be started in the village and is approximately 9.5 km and will take you 2 to 3 hours to complete.

But if you want to shorten your walk and keep it as a loop you can just do the forest walk.

Length approx. 4 km – moderate – 1 hour 20 minutes – red markers.

Enjoy the views and the tranquility the forest brings to your walk.
