Dunboy
Overview
Dunboy Wood is in a most stunning location on the edge of Bullig Bay on the West Coast of Ireland. The coastline trail skirts Bullig Bay with clear views of features such as Traneen Rock, Piper’s point and Ardnakinna lighthouse. The taste of sea salt is tangible in the air along with all the health benefits that accompanies such a location. This mixed old woodland is approximately 50 hectares in size and contains species such as Scots pine, Oak, Western hemlock and birch. There is a rich diversity of wildflowers and shrubs along with little critters.

Things to do
Walk: The long distance waymarked route, the Beara Way passes through Dunboy.
Fishing: Shore angling is permitted at Dunboy, enquire locally for permits.

The views from Dunboy are simply stunning on a clear day. Walk the trails to the end of the forest property to get sight of the lighthouse at Ardnakinna point on Bear Island.
