Deerpark – Bunclody
Overview
Welcome to Deerpark forest which is part of a larger forestry block in and around Mount Leinster.
Deerpark has plenty of parking and is ideal for a short walk with the family or with your dog on a lead, nestled in the foot hills it is a great chance to start the journey towards the higher ground, Kilbrannish North and John’s Hill can be accessed from Deerpark but as you can imagine its up hill from here.
Things to do
There is a short loop in Deerpark, suitable for most, there is also access along the forest road network to the John's Hill loop and the two looped walks in Kilbrannish North.
The Deerpark Loop - easy - 1.8 km - 40 minutes
From the car park go past the yellow and black barrier along the old forest road, this will turn into a gravel trail which will start heading up hill to the left and gently climb before descending back down onto the forest road where you turn left back to the car park.
