The Clashganny Lock Loop is 3.6 km – 1.5 hours – moderate. If starting from the viewing area carpark follow the forest road downhill for about 1 km and the walk through the forest will be on your right.

This path provides a leisurely stroll on a riverside towpath beside the River Barrow and a forest trail over a softly rolling hillside within a serene, ancient woodland that has been forested since the 1800s. It boasts splendid vistas of Clashganny Lock, Ballykeenan Lock, and the River Barrow.
