Ballygamboon
Overview
Ballygamboon is located on the eastern end of the Sliabh Mish mountains where the rough pastures meet the rich farmland. The wood has a southerly aspect with commanding views of the river Maine and a huge area of rich flat farmland below. If you visit on a clear day you can see Kerry Airport and the village of Farranfore to the east whilst looking west Castlemaine harbour and Cromane point come into view. The mountain peaks of MacGillycuddy’s Reeks are to the south in their splendour with the village of Castlemaine in the foreground.
