Overview

The walking trails are located in Kilmagig Woods,in the heart of the garden county which provides the backdrop to the picturesque village of Avoca.
This mixed forest is a nesting area of the Red Kite which was reintroduced into the area in 2009 thanks to the work of the Golden Eagle Trust.
Look up as well as around you as a unique natural wonderland awaits above you, it is now a common thing to glimpse the majestic Red Kites as they soar above their nesting places. But keep your eyes peeled, as you might just as likely spot the Buzzards that have also made these woods their home.
The mature woods provide photogenic vistas of Avoca village from above as you walk the leafy trail.
The walks were developed as a partnership arrangement between the Vale Of Avoca Development Association volunteers with Coillte and Wicklow County Partnership and the local community.
