IT Project Manager

Role Objective

The role objective is to manage the delivery of technical projects and technical workstreams within the Coillte ICT team. The role has responsibility for the delivery of IT changes within agreed scope, time, cost, quality, risk and governance parameters. The role has responsibility for managing stakeholder relationships and communicating with the project sponsor, Steering group and a range of project contributors.

Responsibilities

Project Management
• Provide leadership and oversight on multiple projects.
• Manage projects across the entire life cycle of software development from requirements definition through to maintenance.
• Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Develop detailed project plans to ensure timely completion of project deadlines and milestones.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution and delivery of projects.
• Identify and monitor project risks and use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in any of the project’s triple constraints.
• Ensure timely and accurate communication with project staff throughout the life cycle of the project.
• Monitor and manage the project budget.
• Regularly communicate to sponsors, governance forums, or senior management regarding the status of specific project deliverables.
• Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business.
• Effectively lead the project team to align with the business objectives, project schedule, and project budget.
• Help develop solutions to complex problems.
People and Organisation
• Provide support to Business Process Owners in evaluating changes to already embedded processes.
• Manage and develop how Coillte engage with stakeholders and manage expectations of what can be delivered and when.
• The ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical people and assist in a clear understanding of outcomes and deliverables.
• Manage a project team which would typically include internal resources and 3rd party vendors.
• Manage project budgets and report to appropriate governance.

Desired Technical Competencies

• Education and Experience: Relevant qualification in Information Technology and or Business to HETAC Level 7 and a Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in similar role within large organisation
• Project Management Expertise: PMP or Prince2 certification preferred and Practical knowledge of project delivery methodologies such as waterfall, agile or hybrid.
• ICT Governance: Understanding of ICT governance, cybersecurity,; Good overview of technology solutions and application development
• Strong focus on continuous development and improvement
• Compliance: Concern for order and quality and adherence to agreed standards including procurement/vendor processes and GDPR
• Systems Experience: Experience in delivering solutions for Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, Power BI or Azure preferred.
