Financial Reporting Manager
Role Objective
This role is responsible for driving strong financial performance and leading the delivery of accurate financial and management reporting through strong policies, controls, systems and processes. This role involves building strong relationships with the business, to support and challenge the development, analysis and delivery of financial targets and business plans, that inform key decisions and enable the achievement of the Division’s strategic growth objectives.

Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Deliver and present accurate and timely monthly management accounts and performance pack in line with adopted accounting policies that meet business needs.
- Create regular reporting and in-depth variance analysis, including key metric dashboards, that highlight key performance drivers and support effective strategic and operational decision making.
- Maintain up to date accounting policies in compliance with FRS102, and develop internal audit checks to ensure financial policies and controls are complied with across the Division.
- Manage the accuracy and integrity of all financial information processed through robust financial controls, systems and processes.
- Manage the Division’s capital and biological assets to ensure they are properly recorded, protected and amortised in compliance with relevant accounting standards to support audit readiness.
- Lead the Forest financial reporting and audit programme, ensuring comprehensive support and accuracy across all financials.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead the simplification and optimisation of finance processes to enhance accuracy, compliance and overall financial integrity.
- Lead the development of streamlined, consolidated financial planning & reporting templates that align with monthly management and financial reporting processes.
- Lead the management of the financial systems and processes to support evolving business needs, while ensuring full system compliance and streamlined integration with supporting systems.
Business Partnering & Financial Planning
- Build strong working relationships for assigned business areas of responsibility. Gain an in-depth understanding of business areas to enable valuable financial support and challenge to drive successful business performance.
- Develop robust financial projections (strategic plans, budget, and forecasts) for business areas to support the achievement of the Division’s Strategy.
- Support and challenge the business in delivering financial plans and targets by providing financial analysis and support to identify and manage commercial opportunities and risks.
- Provide financial appraisal of capital projects and strategic initiatives using robust financial models to underpin business cases and optimise capital allocation decisions.
- Collaborate closely with the business to identify and implement simplification and value add activities to drive more effective decision making and business performance.
- Continue to strengthen reporting requirements, monitor feedback and update reports in order to improv quality of information provided to support the business.
People/Team
- As a member of the Finance Management team, provide leadership in developing a high-performance culture that promotes team collaboration, ensuring alignment on the delivery of all partnering, planning, and reporting requirements.
- Strengthen team culture and performance by actively developing team members through empowerment, coaching and mentoring.
- Develop strong relationships with Transaction Services, Group and Divisional Finance teams to ensure all requirements are met.
- Promote a culture of strong collaboration and business partnering within the Division, enhancing commercial and financial acumen to drive improved business performance.
- Promote operational excellence, financial accountability, and continuous improvement while driving simplification in all processes to enable the team to do their best work.
- Act as a visible role model for the Group’s values.

Desired Technical Competencies
- Education & Experience: Professionally qualified accountant with relevant experience in a financial management role.
- Commercial and Financial Acumen: Strong analytical and technical accounting knowledge and an ability to apply it to the role to enhance the profitability and asset value of the business.
- Accounting and Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge and experience of accounting standards and the financial and regulatory environment to ensure compliance with all requirements.
