Our forest plans, our maps and your role in helping us<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We have to make many decisions about the detailed forestry operations in each of our forests.\u00a0In doing so however, we welcome local involvement because we know consultation enhances our understanding of how our decisions impact on all forest users and also helps to create a positive working environment for our staff and contractors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Business Area Unit (BAU) strategic forest plans, which are reviewed every five years, set out a vision for the forests in each BAU and also outlines how Coillte policies and objectives will be implemented within them. These plans, which currently run from 2026-2030, were produced with input from stakeholders following a public consultation process and cover our forest estate which is divided into 321 different forests. Every year, each BAU hosts Operational and Consultation Meetings with the public and interested stakeholders to share and discuss our plans.<\/p>\n

Also, our long-term harvesting and restocking plans for each Business Area Unit (BAU) which covers the period 2026 to 2040 can be found here<\/a>.\u00a0 Changes to these plans may arise for many reasons such as silvicultural, landscape design, restructuring, etc.\u00a0 Stakeholders are notified of these proposed changes annually.\u00a0 Any queries relating to these plans can be submitted to info@coillte.ie<\/a> .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Coillte will on occasion have to make adjustments or amendments to its felling plans as outlined in the BAU strategic plan.\u00a0 Changes to the plan may arise for many reasons such as silvicultural, landscape design, restructuring, market conditions, forest disease and even windblow.\u00a0 Stakeholders are notified of these proposed changes and are consulted in line with Coillte\u2019s Service User and Stakeholder Charter<\/a>.<\/p>\n
