STORM OPHELIA – ALL COILLTE FORESTS CLOSED TO PUBLIC MONDAY, 16TH OCTOBER

Coillte Forests across the country closed on Monday, 16th October with no public access allowed

 

Sunday 15th April 2017: Coillte has closed all their forests across the country on Monday, 16th October following the status red wind warning Met Eireann have issued for Hurricane Ophelia.

All Coillte recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, 16th October and no public access is permitted to any Coillte Forests until further notice. Further updates will be provided as the situation evolves.

While barriers may be open in some areas to facilitate emergency access, no one should enter a forest area by car, on foot or on bike. Please do not put yourselves at risk or place the rescue services at risk should you get into difficulty in a forest area.

Coillte would like to remind the public to be vigilant for fallen trees and to contact emergency services if any roads or access routes are blocked by fallen trees.
