The Dublin-Wicklow District (District E1) is one of the 13 Districts which make up Coillte Forests one of the four divisions of Coillte.
District E1 encompasses 31,833 ha of forest and open land in Counties Wicklow, Dublin and Carlow.  The District comprises 14 forests including Avondale Forest Park in Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow.  
The Dublin and Wicklow mountains form the central area of District E1, stretching as a continuous tract from Dublin to the south of County Wicklow.To the west of the District lie the Blessington Lakes and to the east the Irish sea.  The majority of the land is of good quality and, in the main, wind stable and therefore capable of producing high quality sawlog material for the timber processing sector.
