Coillte's District and Forest Management Plans
Coillte's estate is divided into 321 forest management units (FMU's) which are combined into 13 forest management districts. Coillte has developed plans for each of these Districts, which describe Coillte's forests in the area, and set out the long term vision for the management of these forests. Coillte's forests also have management plans which are approved for a five-year period and are available for the public to view.
An update of Coillte's forest management plans was carried out in late 2008 and during 2009. Members of the public had the opportunity to submit comments/views in relation to local forest management issues. These comments/views were considered and where possible fed into the planning process at review time.
Please see a summary of stakeholder comments and our response to these comments during our forest management plan consultation process.
Coillte have now finalised their District Strategic Plans for the period 2011-2015. This process followed an extensive consultation period where stakeholders had the opportunity to submit comments/views in relation to Coillte's District Strategic Plans. These comments/views were considered and where possible taken on board in our plans. To view the plans please click on District Strategic Plans (2011-2015).
