Hit the trail this Sunday at the first ever National Trails Day

  

This Sunday 28th September is the first ever National Trails Day
so get out and hit the trail – there is one near you!

 

Monday 22nd September 2008: This Sunday will see approx 70 events across the country for National Trails Day so visit the website www.nationaltrailsday.ie or see your local papers this week for details of what is on near you.

From Donegal to Kerry and Galway to Dublin there are walking and biking trails across the country to suit all ages and levels and Sunday is the perfect opportunity to get out there and enjoy them.

Thousand of people will be out and about enjoying a range of activities on trails and you don’t want to miss the fun. So get out and enjoy our nation’s trails.

Among the events being organised are:

  • “Lets Walk & Talk” in the Phoenix Park organised by Dublin City Council
     
  • An Introduction to Mountain Biking at Ballinastoe in the Wicklow Mountains
     
  • A guided walk with RTE presenter and nature expert Eanna Ni Lamhna in Oak Park Forest Park in County Carlow
     
  • An “Edge of the World Walk” along the Atlantic coast in Ballydavid near Tralee 
     
  • A family Orienteering Trail in Clonbur County Galway
     
  • A “Dusk Bat Walk” in Glengarra Forest in County Tipperary

These are just a sample of some of the varied and interesting events which have been put together so lets see you there!
