News Release

During 11th July – 23rd August 2008 you can view the “Healthy Habitats Exhibition” at ENFO. (Click here to see further details)

The exhibition features woodland recreation, habitat restoration and biodiversity on the Coillte estate.

  • Coillte has over 2,000 km of walking routes across some of the most beautiful Irish landscape.
  • In addition it maintains 150 recreation sites and 10 forest parks.
  • In total, 88,000 hectares of the estate is managed with biodiversity as the primary objective.

Some of the country’s rarest habitats are being restored with the aid of EU LIFE-Nature funding (blanket bogs, raised bogs and priority woodlands). This work ensures a healthy habitat for many endangered plant, animal and bird species.

On display will be samples of native Irish tree and shrub species from Coillte nurseries and outdoor furniture from Coillte sawmills.

Coillte are holding a series of lunchtime lectures in ENFO on Biodiversity and Nature Conservation and Woodland and Bog Restoration during the course of its exhibition.  To view of list of the lectures please click here.
