Accoya® and Medite® Tricoya® Win Supreme Innovation Award at this years Timber Expo in the UK.

Revolutionary products Accoya® wood and Medite® Tricoya® panels have won the top award at this year’s Timber Expo 2012.
The innovative and high performance wood based products scooped the show’s Supreme Award for Innovation – a prestigious award which recognises a ‘product of solution that, in the eyes of the judges, stands out above all other innovations at the show.’
The award - for both Accoya Wood and wood-based panel product Medite Tricoya - reflects the outstanding levels of performance, stability and durability produced by the wood’s advanced acetylation technology through Accsys Technologies proprietary wood modification process.
Announcing their winning commendation the judges, who were made up of the UK’s leading timber experts stated that both Accoya and Medite Tricoya products are: “truly ground-breaking and that the campaign to bring this technology to the marketplace has been very strategic and professionally managed.
The judges added that they felt that the “degree of product innovation, marketing and communication meant that Accsys and Medite through the joint development agreement deserved the Supreme Award for Innovation at this years’ show.”
Accoya produced in Europe by Accsys Technologies and the latest Medite Tricoya panel product produced by Coillte Panel Products are some of the most advanced wood products on the market and uses the latest in wood acetylation technology to deliver outstanding levels of performance, stability and durability.
These products are the result of more than 80 years research and development on wood acetylation which takes sustainably-sourced, fast growing softwood and non durable hardwoods and, in a non toxic process creates a new durable, stable and beautiful product that offers the very best environmental credentials.

Wood Acetylation is a process which increases the amount of 'acetyl' molecules in wood, thereby changing its physical properties. The process protects wood from rot by making it "inedible" to most micro-organisms and fungi, without - unlike conventional treatments - making it toxic.
