Give the environment a gift this Christmas

PRESS RELEASE

Coillte Christmas tree depots will be opening from 4th December with 18 depots around the country selling a variety of Christmas trees.

A real Christmas tree is a renewable, recyclable resource and it's all biodegradable.  The amount of carbon given off as the tree decomposes is equal to the amount of CO2 it stored in its lifetime.

By buying a real tree, people are also doing their bit for environment.  In these days of increased CO2 emissions, trees are needed more than ever to counteract the impact of these emissions.

The main species of Christmas tree grown in Ireland are Noble fir and Nordman Fir.  These  popular types of Christmas trees have a dark green colour and their distinctive fragrance will add that special Christmas atmosphere to your home.
