December 12th was a great day for Coillte at the 2001 RDS Irish Forestry and Wood Awards. Mr Hugh Byrne, TD, Minister of State, Department of Marine and Natural Resources, presented a cheque for €1,000, a perpetual trophy and an RDS Medal to each of the four category winners. The Commercial Timber and Craft Enterprise award went to our sawmill in Dundrum, while the Urban/Recreational Forestry Award went to Belleek Woods outside Ballina, Co. Mayo.
