Coillte celebrates Award for good environmental Reporting

Coillte was one of three companies that received a commendation for its quality of environmental reporting in Ireland's first Environmental Reporting Awards scheme, organised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Ireland. The overall award was presented to the Musgrave Group of Cork, Ireland's largest food and grocery distributor by Minister of State Noel Treacy, at an awards ceremony in Government Buildings last December. Intel Ireland Ltd and Thermo King Europe, of Galway received commendations, along with Coillte.

Roger Acton, Head of ACCA Ireland, said: "the objective of the awards scheme is to identify and reward the way in which organisations report on the impact their activities have on the environment. By measuring what they do it enables organisations to manage their environmental performances better. Irish companies can really benefit from producing environmental reports with the growth of ethical investment and a developing interest in the openness with which companies now report on the way in which they are governed."

This award is further recognition of the hard work that Coillte has been doing in relation to our responsible forest management initiative, and in our commitment to transparency in communication of the whole process.
